People say they approve of interracial partners, but studies uncover bias
Many people in the usa say they accept interracial relationships, but a brand new study of mind activity shows some bias that is hidden.
Scientists surveyed pupils during the University of Nebraska — young people, maybe perhaps not people who spent my youth in an even more overtly racist time — and recorded their mind task as they looked over images of hundreds of partners.
The students reported little disapproval of interracial couples in a survey of attitudes about relationships. But pictures of interracial partners caused activity in a right component of this brain that registers disgust.
“It suggests that people show some degree of disgust on the basis of the national polls stating that all things are fine,” said Allison Skinner, lead writer and postdoctoral researcher at the University of Washington, whom published the research within the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology. ادامه مطلب …
